I have my body in laboratory mode :)

Good ... speaking of diabetes and coronavirus ... With this situation we have right now in Spain, do anyone know if the strips/sensors/needles are taking place normally?I have to return in less than a month for sensors to my health center and I do not find anywhere information about how this affects the distribution of material to the diabetics, in case someone has had to go and know something

The other week I have to call my ambulatory and one of the things that I will ask will be that, how to collect the material.
My ambulatory is working very well. They are not patient unless it is very urgent. You meet for the application as always and instead of going it calls you by phone your doctor or another at the time of the appointment.

To me after a week and a half without going to the gym, I think the insulin factors are increasing both fast and basal.

Although I do gymnastics at home and I have dumbbells and some material is not the same as a good spinning session. What a disasterI hope this does not last long.

Here have already closed all coffees and restaurants as of today.Yesterday they were open until 6 in the afternoon, but they have realized that there were too many people inside. And in the markets they only let five people pass. With the cold that makes (today it rains, wind and 7 degrees) we are going to comply all.

Between the stress q are causing us and the great economic disaster, you will see how the unemployment to beast will increase, I do not know if all this is worth it.We have to learn to live with this virus, just like we do with the flu, although it has more mortality rate. But well to follow the rules until we have food in stores because transports do not arrive and production is running out.

Do all type 1 diabetics have an autoimmune disease, or does it not have?

As you are seeing, it is not a flu, it has nothing to do, it is much more contagious and remains much longer in objects, the lethality rate is low but the speed of propagation is infinitely greater, and the problem is notBoth the virus, that also, but the sanitary collapse and that if containment measures were not taken, even more people would die and the health system is collapsed, that means that if there is an infarction, a traffic accident, a stroke, aimportant fracture ...., it may not be treated because the coronavirus is monopolizing everything, the UCI beds are very limited, and if not, they ask those in Madrid, it is having to decide who to putrespirator and who does not, based on what criteria?, age, previous diseases, etc., people who see that they have more chances of surviving, is very strong.
It is not a matter of being overwhelmed and anxious all the time but that diabetes, like any chronic disease, is at risk for the thing to complicate, does not have to do it in all cases but this is a statistical issue, there aremore likely. It is not as target has said before, that we have low defenses, not, at all, but that type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease, and therefore the immune system can work differently to infections. If apart, the control is not the one that should, the high glycemia make it an ideal breeding ground for the growth of microorganisms,
My endocrine made me a report so that I was not in direct contact with patients, it seems that I could work from home, doing not all jobs because the welfare is impossible, of course, but many.
I am worried but not overwhelmed, you have to try to continue with the routines and with daily activity and take care of everything possible. It is said that this is going to be cyclical, such as the flu, with the difference that there will be some immunity, unlike now that it is the first time that the virus comes into contact with the population, it is supposed to be some immune memoryAnd there is also time to get a more effective vaccine and treatments.Hopefully this is going through, although I fear that it still is missing.Maintain a positive spirit and enjoy every day.A hug for all.

Thanks @meginer for your post.
I feel to be hard with what I am going to say, but I think it is necessary that the real situation be known.
Before the sanitary collapse (already) you have to know that the average occupation of a box is about 10 days if the patient does not die before.
When everyone is occupied, the protocol will be to remove it to the old ones to intubate the most "young."
When there are only "young", patients with chronic/previous diseases will be the last.

I think they are already thinking of prioritizing the shortage of resources

It is normal even if it seems hard and has always done

Before saving an 80 -year -old person you try to save the youngest

If coherence and common sense, I do not know how we can comment so lightly, it is nothing more than a flu, they create alarm for no reason, and even some who say they are professionals, saying light and saying that because it is diabetic you haveThe same risk as a person who is not, if I delete from the forum this does not help me at all ,,

Hello, as I see that there are opinions of all kinds I want to comment on my case, which is not my opinion but that of the specialist.I had an appointment with the endocrine tomorrow in La Paz, as they are obviously being canceled, they called me on Thursday and told me our situation. They told me that because they are diabetics, there is no more likely to contagion but that, in case of infection, recovery would be more complicated than in a non -diabetic person.I am 39 years old and no added problem and they asked me not to go out at all. They told me that if I need diabetic material to be another person to pick it up and, in case of not having anyone, to talk to the health center because you wanted to implement a protocol to facilitate the material to people who are alone. With this I do not intend to alarm or relax, it is as they told me.So in cases that do not leave you, I would consult the endocrine to see if a report can happen because head doctors are not sufficiently trained to assess this, since it is not their specialty.Greetings

Well, I have to go to the pharmacy, I went two weeks ago and I have to go, I will go with my gloves but not with a mask, I think that in pharmacies they are already attending with a screen, and when I arrive then I will throw the gloves and I will wash myselfThe hands, point, I don't think you can't go to the essential, my husband usually goes to buy one day a week, my son takes the dog and I will have to go to the pharmacy, if my son goes andIt is spread and it happens to me is the same ... we try to minimize the risk but we cannot be obsessed either.

Hello ... it is normal that we are worried ... ours is a serious condition although thanks to our effort and the medical team we make it a little lighter. We have type 1 diabetes ... that is so.But in this society there is usually talk of diabetes ... without more ... and a type 2 diabetes with hypertension, overweight, cholesterol and sedentary lifestyle is not the same as a type one with only two crosses in the analytics in the section of the section of theglucose.
By this I mean that we listen to diabetes in the news of the deaths of the virus and we shit live (I first) but I think we must differentiate "those diabetes" from which we drag.
It is true that because of our condition we have more risk, both now with the pandemic and in many other occasions that are presented to us, but I think that neither for our type 1 diabetes we must be more cossed than the neighbor who has not put a tracksuit in 10 years...
All the best.

As I commented before I only transmit what they told me calling me directly from the hospital.I am not going to assess whether it is excessive or not but I have also commented that I am young and I have no added problems what my endocrine knows perfectly and, even so, they have bothered to call. Each who makes their own decisions but my comment has been objective and to help.Actually, if I give my opinion, I am not especially worried but since I do not cost anything I will follow the recommendations and I will stay in Casita.Greetings

man in theory by having an autoimmune disease, it is assumed that our defenses are worse, as these viruses only fight with your own defenses, we have more options to have complications. But there will be cases and cases, I have been with diabetes for 10 years and I do not consider that I have worse defenses, I take the subway every day in Madrid, my girlfriend is bad all the winters and I have never become bad.

The coronavirus problem is that apart from attacking the respiratory system, the liver and heart attacks
