New with free freestyle 2. Several doubts.

Hello.Here in Mexico the government health system does not deliver sensors to diabetics or type 1 or type 2. One has to get them on your own.It is very expensive for us since each sensor has a cost of approximately $ 75.They will say it is worth paying it but there are many other payments and the sensor only lasts 14 days, for example I have to pay the medicines and medical consultations of my children and my wife (she does not work), so month by monthI am a money in doctors, pediatricians, ours, cardiologists, etc.Here in Mexico government medicine is very bad and most go to private specialists and this leads to a very strong expense.
Well, the fact is that I am diabetic 2 and I have treatment with Invokana and Metformin (1000) of prolonged release.But for a few weeks I see dryness on the skin of my feet and I have worried that my glycometer is wrong.So I decided to buy the reader and a sensor in Costco to see how it is doing.
I have been using it and it is great to be able to take readings at all times (sometimes I use the Android app and sometimes use the free freestyle reader) ...
I have some doubts for those who use it frequently:
1- Is there a limit of readings or can I read everything you want in 14 days?
2- At 14 days it stops working or is there a lasting way 2 or 3 more days?
3- Is there a risk of bathing that the sensor falls?
4- How exact is the sensor when we compare with normal glycometer of laboratory blood strips and studies?
5- The sensor is only used by DB1 or also use it DB2?
6- Any suggestion or recommendation?

I use it now and tell you my experience.I started using it to see the information I gave me, but I was pregnant and I have continued to use it.
The meter is not as accurate as the glucometer, for example to take data to the endocrine I take those of the glucometer.
I do not have DT1, but MODY that seems that type 2 diabetes works.
The first days when I use it, it is more unbrusted, now that I sleep more from side I notice that the first days marks me hypos because when I sleep I crush it.To start it, I recommend you put it a few hours earlier and validate it at a time when you are stable, that is, after eating hours, in the afternoon for example if you do not have abrupt climbs and descents and not snacks because you activate it there.Or if after breakfast you stay a long time, then at that time.It is what is best going to try to square it as well as possible.As the days go by it works for me better.What is, more or less one is already doing to the idea, for example, the last one that I have always measures me about 10-20 below, so if I see 110 I know that I am more or less in 125-130 and so on.If you put me 60, about 80. Sometimes it measures me a little above.Come on, not exactly.
Then there are apps to link it as XDrip but I have not succeeded because I am a clumsy, I have not been able to download or anything like that.With those apps you can calibrate the sensor.I used Shuggah that is one of those who used one like that and can be downloaded from the appthore, it can supposedly be calibrate but in my opinion it does not go very well, sometimes it works but sometimes it marks you values away from reality, whichIt generated tension and constantly looking at the glucose because it did not match the sensor app or the capillary.

Good morning, we go in parts:
- There is no readings limit
- The official app does not read you after 14 days.There are other unofficial apps that extend it to you something else (for example, with Diabox you get like 14/15 hours with each sensor)
- To shower you should not have any problem, as long as you have a little care.
- The accuracy is relative.Sometimes you nail it with the glucometer and sometimes it goes quite a difference.The normal thing is that the sensor measures over 10-20-30 below the glucometer.Once you know that, then you calculate.There is an app called Diabox that allows you to calibrate the sensor with the real values you get with the glucometer.
- Here in Spain they prescribe it to the DB1, although little by little they also extend it to the DB2.
- The sensor facilitates the management of diabetes as you do not imagine.If you can cost you, you will not regret it.

Apart from what has been said, if you want me to measure you continuously to the mobile and last between 8 and 14 hours more, I recommend the Diabox app.It is the easiest to use than I have tried.
In Spain, € 69.5 is equivalent to about $ 75 since 2020 is financed to diabetics 1 and from 2023 to type 2 with insulin.
