Macular edema, glasses that promise to reverse retinopathy?

krrs's profile photo   11/30/2017 11:37 a.m.

Indeed, they do an Oct test ... It is where the macular edema is really seen however small it is.And if you have an edema tell your OFT to prescribe a very effective Nevanac 1mg/L ... is an effective anti -inflammatory.
As for the laser in diabetic patients, a lot of prudence ... since you will understand if laser applies will be in the areas where microhemorrhagia are produced for sealing and caulsing those roads.
All the best.

@Nigiri, I am not surprised that you are very angry.Hopefully the treatment makes you effect.I do not understand that they do not look at us more depth especially if we have been evolving for many years.

I will do a year and a half and still have no appointment. The last times the ophthalmologist has visited me has been very fast and only with pupil dilation.

Considering that years ago they had to give me laser I think I'm going to a private to value me.

You will tell us your evolution.

Thank you @ophthalmologist for explaining the details.

Greetings

Yes, I am very angry but above all very sad, in addition, my eyes are my work tool, the truth is that I am very concerned. On the other hand, to think about the treatment generates more anxiety, that they have to click on the eye ... go shit all fucking

Hi @Dalu the treatment is not over, 3 injections are at the moment, one per month and then review to see if the edema has decreased or if I need more.

Good, because after several tests the retina specialist tells me that everything is controlled and that we must not be alarmed (after performing angiography and giving some laser in the right eye) that the laser cannot be given as well as so tothe minimum.Unfortunately today I got up rarely in the left eye, I felt that the lines were not straight and I saw something blurred, I have gone and have programmed me for another OTC, now to pray, this is insufferable one never rests for very good controlLet you carry ... according to the specialist, no matter how much angiography it is done today you can be fine and tomorrow, not, apologize but I needed to vent me.

Much mood KRRS, this is a background race, come on, a pain but unfortunately and although it sounds very manid, it is what there is.I took a dislike when they told me about edema but that's it, you have to throw palante, in my case if it is true that as a result of all the tests that my eye did to me a lot and I saw much worse than before beforeThey gave me the news, as the inflammation went down, I saw quite well except for the straight lines.Anyway, a lot of courage and you will tell us how you are going, I have my second injection on Monday.

Hello @"nigiri" and @"krrs", how are you going with your treatments?I hope well.

I just wanted to tell my experience, as I told you, I have been waiting for a year and a half and still have no annual appointment, with the ophthalmologist.I have gone to a private one, they have looked at me in depth and since I have been evolving for many years (27) TB have made me angiography, they had never made me one in social security. With the results they have believed convenient to give me laser in one of the eyes.

I tell it so that, even if it sounds sad, who can afford it and do not look at it properly in the SS do not hesitate to check the view.

As my hemoglobins are quite acceptable between 5.6 and 6.5.

@"Vita" They saw me in Social Security retinopathy in an angiography that they made for another reason and as a result they have already looked at me well.At the moment it is in the initial phase, I have not lost any vision and does not need a laser, just control. Now they have given me in 6 months to review with the retina specialist who has seen me in the last consultation. In normal annual reviews I had never seen the retina specialist and to know if the retinopathy had been seen for longer and they had not seen it.So you have done well to go to a private one because in the same SS they would not have seen it if the retina specialist does not see you.
In the end many years have above a non -diabetic end up bringing us problems.I have almost always been between 6 and 7 as they recommend, some something above 7 but nothing exaggerated and you still see. From 5.6 every extra 0.1 proportionally increases the risk of complications, so to have the same probabilities as a non -diabetic should be with non -diabetic.Anything above has risks.
I have been about 6 and some 5.5 from 6 years below 2 years and some 5.5 I don't think the retinopathy gets worse but you never know.If I see that they don't look at me well in the SS I will go to a private one.

When I finish the treatment I will ask if they are going to take a more exhaustive control of both eyes, if not, I will go privately, I do not play it anymore.

@"Dalu" Today it is very difficult for a diabetic to stay blind, there is a lot of advances. An incipient retinopathy is perfectly controllable anyway.Do not be afraid, having started so small, it will be responsible, and when it takes years of evolution there will be many more progress.

@"Dalu" does not always have to pass.My sister has been with diabetes for many more years (from 3) and with times of worse control than me and has no complication. Each body endures more or less.Anyway, as Nigiri tells you today there are many advances in treatment and it is very difficult to get blind except that you pass everything and have disastrous.Normally cases of very important loss of vision is in people who do not take care of anything.
The important thing is to focus on what we can do that is to carry the best possible control, make reviews, etc.

Thank you @"nigiri" and @"yesssica_a" for the tranquility that you transmit to me.And you are right, the important thing is to focus on what we can control and now more, that we have been with the Medtronic bomb and do not find the key.At the moment we have taken a step back, although I hope it is to then give 2 forward

Surely you have no controlled @"dalu"!Do not despair and as Yesssica says, you have to focus on the now that what comes will come and having good control will not happen.
