Good morning.
For the first time I participate in this forum, although I usually read.
I tell you my particular case because I think it can clarify some doubts arising about this news.
I live in Valencia.I am an adult.Insulin bomb user since March 2012 (Roche Bomb).Since last July, I decided to change the free (which I had since November 2014) for the G4, for the tranquility that alarms give me.And I am very happy with the change.
In my hospital, they say that I fulfill the requirements to host myself to the financing of the G4 sensors.I believe that the most important criteria, in my case, are asymptomatic hypoglycemia and improvement (better hemoglobins and less hypoglycemia since I use the G4, in relation to when I was carrying free).
Yesterday they gave me the Animas Vive bomb, I already have it at home to go crabing her.I asked that change, although I was delighted with Roche's.We will start it on October 31.In my hospital they already have the MCG to give patients that they consider to meet the requirements. And as they told me yesterday, they will give me a new sensor, with a new transmitter that same day.
I hope this information clarifies some doubts that have arisen.I am happy and proud of what was achieved. It is true that it is unfair that these benefits are not extensive to anyone with diabetes.Unfair and cruel. But I think it's just a first step.I trust that little by little they will expand the beneficiaries of these systems.Of course you will also depend on the specialists that take you.In that I am very lucky.
