Type 2 diabetes

ariodante's profile photo   10/14/2011 7:49 p.m.

Good night to all,

My name is Daniela and I am 31 years old.In April of this year I entered the hospital with food poisoning and made me a routine analytical. The case is that the one who was my head doctor at that time did not pay much attention to the results of the same.

A little over a week ago I went to my new doctor for vaginal fungi that did not improve too much despite the treatments. Reviewing my data found that in the famous April analytics I had 261 glucose.

Repetition of analytics and the same of the same. Diagnosis: Type 2. Diabetes has now prescribed 1 metformin pill per day (average in the morning and another half at night), diet to lower my kilos of more and moderate exercise.

The fungi are controlled, however, they caused me small wounds in the perineum that are giving me a lot of can and that I am having exquisite care.

My head doctor gave me a diet to start and recommended a balance to weigh the food..

I just dizzy, I find it hard to think at the last minute. So I will have to look for some solution. I do not know if it also happens to any of you.

The fact is that I am still a little lost, and that is why I would like to share my inexperience and know yours.

Thank you so much!

Hi Daniela

Welcome to the forum

Your case seems a bit atypical ... eye, I don't say you are badly diagnosed but I think you should ask the doctor if you have ruled out the type 1 diabetes options or lada diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed to people under 40, more or less ... and it takes with very typical symptoms (4 p): polyuria, polydipsia, polyphia and weight loss ... that is, urinating a lot, urinating a lot, urinating a lot,Drink a lot, eat a lot and a lot of decrease in body weight
There are different analytical tests to confirm this diagnosis, including basal glycemia or any glycemia greater than 180

Type 2 diabetes is usually diagnosed to people over 40 and their symptoms are much more diffuse, sometimes there are no symptoms ... Only a high blood glucose finding can give the alarm voice.

Lada type diabetes, or type 1.5 diabetes is usually diagnosed after 25 years, and usually responds well to oral antidiabetics, although after a while it is necessary to introduce insulin.

Hi Owash:

The truth is that I do not know very well where the border is between type 1 diabetes and the 2. In my case my head doctor was checking old analytics and all were fine. I took weight in these last 5 years and thinks that this is theReason why my high levels of glucose have appeared.
Anyway, I thank you very much for the information you give me since I realize what little I knew (and I know) of all this. I have to put on the batteries, assume it and eat healthy.
I come out just over 5 years ago from a non -Hodking lymphoma and now diabetes, so I am a bit "pissed off.

Do you take affinitor?

Extracted from the prospect: Link ... 022814.pdf >
If you have diabetes (high blood sugar level).AFINITOR can increase blood sugar levels and worsen diabetes mellitus. This can make treatment with insulin and/or with oral antidiabetic medications

If it is another medicine, look to see the prospect if you mention something about diabetes or hyperglycemia.

If this case is likely to reduce the weight, exercise and take metformin the glycemia values are well controlled.

Hello, I have a child with type 1 diabetes.
The difference between type 1 and type 2 more than in age, although they are almost always in children type 1, is in
In those of type two the pancreas still works although wrong, but secret insulin.
In type two it can be sufficient with oral diabetics if the pancreas is not very damaged.
In type 1 in non -secret insulin pancreas.
They know if it is 1 or 2 by making you a blood analytics, because the insulin that secrets the pancreas is linked to what is called the (peptide c), and the insulin we put on does not carry it, therefore if in your analyticsPepid C -It means that it is type 2 and that your pancreas although wrong, but it still works. That is why more than for age it is for that protein.
All the best.

Welcome:

My beginning with this disease was very similar to yours although a couple of years before, I began with metformin with the same dose as you, when they discovered me the diabetes had glycosylated in 11.2, in 3 months with the treatment of metformin I managed to lower it to6.5, but I confess and at 6 I had it in 8, so I began to take care of me again but nothing was still going up the glycosiladName and nothing I was going up, right now for two months I have already prescribed insulin and the truth my head doctor is not clear what kind of diabetes I have for the week I will go to the specialist I imagine that he will know .....In conclusion encourage and do not despair I hope you have more luck than me.

Hello good evening:

I have not entered the forum for a long time, I have seen that you have changed the format, we will have to get used to it again.

For those who do not know me I have diabetes II, they detected it in August 2009, my grandmother was diabetic and my mother too, we are 4 brothers, the oldest does not have high sugar levels, it is more eate what he wants and does not riseOf 80, the next began with pills and then insulin (died last year), my other brother does not have the high levels and I am the last of the saga inherited family disease.I have taken the medication of a Diamben 850s a day, a few days ago they have increased to two, since when I do control at two hours of breakfast I get up to 140/180, I hope that this increase controls me thelevels, I have a glycosilada of 6.8.

All this time that I have been "missing", I have dedicated myself to try.

Greetings to all

Diagnosticada en Agosto del 2009, solicite la curva de glucosa, diabetes melitus II, actualmente tomo Jentadueto, dos al día. Glicosilada 6,4

The difference between type 1 and type 2 is at the origin of the disease.Type 1 is of autoimmune origin (said in a very profane way, your defenses destroy insulin producing cells that are in the pancreas) and is diagnosed in childhood, adolescence and early years of adulthood.Type 2 is associated with metabolic syndrome: overweight, hypertriglyceridemia, hypercholesterolemia ... for your age, you are very young to be type 2, but you are also greater to be type 2. I have 37 and I am type 1 for 2 months,So that of age is not really reliable to diagnose them. The endocrine will ask you for an analysis with antibodies and peptide C. If the antibodies give positive and the C peptide gives a very low value (<0.8 or 1), it is that you are type 1 diabetics.

Hello, I am Alfonso Diabetic Type II of 59 years and diabetic for 12 I am no longer able to control the disease I have to put insulin I am outraged because I know that there is an operation without laparoscopic risks minimal invasion hospitalization 48 hours and I can only make it deprivedIt costs 12000 euros and the Extremadura for health service does not include it in its protocols.I think we must mobilize all diabetics, 40% would solve this serious disease that kill my father after amputating a leg.

Diabetic associations know what I'm talking about I think they are manipulated but because we are not all at the door of Congress, we are so many patients that we can put and remove governments. That you think that Social Security assumes a complex operation of sex change and does not want to know anything about the diabetics because with due respect it seems to me at least one comparative grievance,
