Uyy this thread had escaped.I am diabetic 28.5 years.
I don't even have any health problems as a result of diabetes
Perfect kidneys, seen more than great, moreover, I operate on average three years ago and all great.
I do what I want, I live very well, I have better health than most of my colleagues, institute and university, sportingly the Trillo to all and that I am more and more.
Hahaha come I put more flowers.
It is true that I have always been a responsible pelin.
It is also true that being diabetic those years of colors that passed a difference of 100 mg I have not known them I do not know that strips speaking Hansolo, it is more the first meter that I had the reflolux 2 was more precise than many of now.For me this advances with dropper. And nothing is interested in investigating.
I would love to see some image of those strips with their boat with those differences.
Real advance?Well, the Dexcom Meter with Alarms and Medtronic 640 g (which I have not tried).
But it is not fair that if the phones were previously briefcases and they were fatal today, they are a clock and go great.A clock with GPS that measures you distance, tell your people where you are, that is progress and not stop.
I live very well, I hope you investigate more, and there are really progress.A much smaller pen, instant action insulin, MCG with real time measurement.Good transplants.
You'll see how it will live very well.

@Paris I have 29 years of diabetes and on the way to the 30s and my sister is a diabetic since the 10 months.
Both without added complications, although as we have all gone through better and worse times.
Reading the thread I have remembered my diagnosis, of my mother crying, of my first prick grabbed by 4 wardens ... of the hypos and the scares, of the analyzes that lasted minutes and those that consisted of looking at the color of theDispose of intuition, to load disposable syringes (my sister started with those who cook imagina), of the ultratard, the NPH, the mixtures made by hand ...
Come on, things have changed a lot, but the disease is still the same and has its things that are standing, but zero fear !!The smile and good humor that do not take it away!
@jconegar this summer I take out of the baul of memories devices, strips and a thousand papers. It was because the house warehouse was filled with water, but if there is something left, I will put a photo haha

@jconegar, Look were like that, you threw the gotilaa in the strip, you expected it seems to me that 10 seconds and clean it and to compare, like those of acetone that is now in urine, ahira .. I know them from the beginning there were those 2 2Blood and urine things
The problem is that the exact color never came out then you always doubted ...
I used them a little time, a couple of months for I already bought the Accutreck that was not even cleaned was like those of now but it took 3 minutes and depended a lot on the amount of blood you would throw

The gout of the glucometer strips were large, those of Reflolux were somewhat less.

@Gala how you have kept that.I promise you that when I have seen the photos have wanted to cry.All memories have come suddenly.
I started with 7 years, with syringes and with a cold thermos that was an authentic cognizage to take everywhere. And my mother, always with food in the bag and in the car, although we were 100km, but of course the fear of running out of supply was important.
Here I am 33 years later, with an 8 girl, sometimes tired, and even noses not to say anything else, but I can say that I am happy, or as they say, that I have moments of happiness that is already enough.Objectively the advances are not perfect, but they exist, and the future, sooner rather than later I am sure that it will be better.

@Ele, JE JE, I have "The Museum of Diabetes", Trmengo also saved my first machine, syringes, a pen of cartridges ...
Yes, I always had a sandwich in my bag or backpack, always with provisions with the Porra of the NPH, which disgusting insulin, q heaviness, always pending the hour.
I say the same, that happiness is not a continuous state, if not moments of happiness
