Good night

Good night;I am Rocío and I am new here, I am Cadiz but currently I live in Burgos for work.
I am 32 years old and I am a diabetics since the age of 18, I do not have it too well, this year in the annual eye, I have found retinopathy although the ophthalmologo and head of the header has not given it too much importance, they say that with the years I have beenNormal, I am very nervous and that makes me have a bit of lack of control.
The fact is that when I am not well controlled it affects me a lot to the hair (I fall a lot) to the changes of humor and intimate infections.
I hope to find answers to many doubts here.
Thanks and good night

Hi, Rocío.
Welcome to this club.
I think we can recommend that you don't know. This disease does not have many secrets. You have to be very aware of your evolution, make an effort to control it.You are very young and it is not good to start with the consequences of retinopathy and others derived from diabetes.Certainly, stress is not good and increases levels.Do not lower your guard. It is convenient for us to give you some advice that your current levels tell us, your glycosylated hemoglobin, what kind of insulin do you put on, what diets you follow, etc.
The fact of being far from home can also demotivate you something.Try to appreciate how good you have, your work, that beautiful city that is Burgos, even if it is so cold and so different from Cádiz.
In short, have a lot of encouragement, discipline, that in the long term you will rejoice in it.
Merry Christmas and today you warm up and after leaving work, a good walk along the shore of the Arlanzón.And then there near the cathedral, with some friends, a Vinito Ribera del Duero with a good black pudding. That is tolerable to us.
A hug.

Welcome Rocío !!
Normal that having diabetes for 14 years you have retinopathy ??????Have you really told you that ???????Well, hallucinated I stay .... I just turned 13 with diabetes, what awaits me then ????Anyway ... I change the doctor if you tell me that ...
Tell us what your treatment is, I imagine that your endocrine will have told you that you should carry better control so that retinopathy does not advance, right? ...
Kisses

First of all, welcome @rocioayla!
Here you will find a lot of information, of experiences and you will clear many of your doubts without asking, but as @Miguel says, I encourage you to participate both with questions and their own experiences and that you tell us a little more about your diabetes.

@prado, I imagine that retinopathy is because of bad control during that time of evolution, as is my case :(

Of course intruder, but what surprises me is that the doctor tells him that it is normal given the diabetes time, normal is not if you carry acceptable control ...... :)

I was also surprised when I have read it ... I've been 25 years and I don't have retinopathy.I think it has to be very demotivating that the doctor tells you "which is normal."
You have to strive to have good control to avoid complications

Rocío, what treatment you carry and what controls you have, to see if we can help.
I don't know if they have proposed the insulin pump, but you can greatly improve control with it.
The hair are you sure it is for diabetes?I guess they will have made a complete hormonal analytics.
Much encouragement, that retinopathy can be stopped with treatment and good controls.

Good night.I answer a little late, I've been a little lost, well I'm still in Burgos and married my Burgos on August 30 and now we thought about getting to work to expand the family. My last hemoglobin is 9 tall, I am a disaster and I despair, I put 30 from Lantus in the food and 2 Novorrapid at each meal but the truth is that I do not exercise almost exercise, now I am taking care of myself a little more for the baby themeBut I am discouraged when I see that I have followed a controlled day and I have walked an hour and after 4 hours without eating my sugar value it is 377 I do not understand. Can you give me any advice. They are nervous?I have no infection, I have not cried ... and to top it up my headmail says that I do not need an endocrine that she is a diabetes specialist and does not derive me... many thank you I hope your help

@Rocioayla I am not a doctor, but seeing your guideline it seems very decompensated ... I am sure that making some changes your hem will go down.First of all, I would change my doctor ... because the one you have knows the same as me as an aeronautics.

How do you get up in the morning?Do you know the diet for portions? From what I are afraid I am not, but calm because here we can help you.It is not normal for the doctor to tell you to get 2 units of fast at breakfast dinner ... do not always eat the same or the same amount of hydrates !!Insulin must be adjusted depending on what you eat.We are going, if the doctor does not know that and says that he is a specialist ................ Turn off and let's go !!

I tell you the same as Mimbek.Request the change of the header now!and that derives you from an endocrine quickly. You are very badly treated. To get an idea, the total rapid dose is usually similar to the total slow dose.
You barely have a fast dose and perhaps too slow.Above with a hemo of 9 and looking for a pregnancy, what else do you need to take a good endocrine?
Do not consider more time that they treat you like that.

Give us your glycemia data, if you want, to see if in the meantime we can help something, but change doctor.

A hug

Ufff, get to La.idea q with a hem above 7.5 the complications for the fetus shoot ... and they are not complications of the style that comes out a little chubby .... bad formations of the heart, diseases, diseasesneuronal ... if you have already started for something, leave it until you go down the hemo 6.5 ...

Tb I think that your guideline is wrong, guilt of your doctor huh!.Correct when you get to high food?

What Regina tells you, if you want you have a list of glycemia, carbohydrates and insulin and we try to guide you a little ...

But change from doctor ... if your header doctor refuses, go to the hospital with 370 and say that you have been so bad for several days. They will derive you to the endocrine

Hello!!.

I was going to tell you about.Go to the hospital emergency and say that you have many days and that you are very bad and see if there they take the endocrine team of the hospital, if you do not change doctor. That they do not want to derive you should not consent !!!!.It is unheard of !!
And I hurt the same ethical, if you have already started looking for a baby to leave it until you have a better control, it can be very dangerous for the fetus with bad congenital formations and this is very, very important is not no nonsense.

Thank you very much for your advice. You have already scared me in my body. But the one is that I can already be pregnant.Yesterday I was in the emergency department for teeth infection. It is possible that on an empty stomach is 300?You can be of the infection, I am also untempled does not exceed 37 but I have 4 days.Today, for example, I got up with 300 and I have pusto 2 units from Novorrapid and I have taken a coffee with skim milk and an apple and at 2 hours I had 308 ...The nurse I hope they refer to the endocrine. If I was pregnant, it would be only a good fault even, I can have already harmed that zygote or I am in time to take care of myself ... I am a disaster. Why do you say that insulin is poorly regulated?More lantus or faster.Years ago when I was going to me by the Lantus for the night I woke up every day with hiccups and changed it to tomorrow but I got a lot at night and I recommended my then endocrine that put it halfway to it.Well and finally I wanted to know if it is true that being a long time without eating can give me up?

Rocio always click the same at food and dinner breakfast ??You have to adjust insulin to what you eat.It is not the same a plate of macaroni as a plate of vegetables ... for both things you put the same?A fast you have to raise between 80 and 110 approx.I also think you are quickly missing.
