The use of a new device called 'Bolus Calculator' has improved the control of type 1 diabetes without increasing the risk of hypoglycemia, according to a study conducted by the health center.

The electronic device used in the daily control of patients with type 1 diabetes incorporates an insulin calculator, that is, in addition to calculating sugar levels, it also calculates the exact amount of insulin that the patient should administer.

The head of the Endocrinology and Nutrition Service, Manuel Pérez Maraver, explained that "this new device that has been used for two years allows the patient to know perfectly the insulin that must be administered and so does not have to make approximate calculations daily depending on whether they are theBlood sugar levels ".
