The country's endocrinologists analyzed the new ideal moment for timely insulinization and a new molecule for the control of diabetes that activates natural diuretics of the organism, in two activities held in the capital and Santiago.
Dr. Dolores Mejía, president of the Dominican Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition, points out that it has evidence of cases in which the early intervention achieved remission of diabetes, which according to the Effective study II affects 9.9 percent of the Dominican population.
"When we get to the diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus 2 we arrived ten years late in complications with 50 % of the functionality of the pancreas," says Mejía, who issued a conference at the scientific encounter "Santiago Metabolic".
The magazine "Diabetes Voice", publication of the International Diabetes Federation, points out that there are research that revealed the possibility of bringing diabetes to a state of remission, after eight weeks of rigorous medical submissions.The entity took advantage of the scientific day for the celebration of its 41 anniversary with health professionals linked to the issue of endocrinology.
The company, founded in 1974, also carried out an activity in Santo Domingo with the endocrinologist Jaime Davidson, who presented the dapaglifozin molecule, which has properties to inhibit the loss of glucose through the urine.
