On the fourth time our city will host the National Congress of the Mexican Federation of Diabetes A.C.
The Polyphorum León will be the place where the 28th edition of the event organized by the Federation will be held, with the support of the Mexican Association of Diabetes in Guanajuato A.C.
Gina Cano, president of the Association in Guanajuato, commented that the event aims to grant patients, family members and specialist doctors clear and updated information about the disease.
“Congress is one of the most important efforts, at the national level, to provide patients who live with diabetes, their families and health professionals who attend them, clear, timely and supported information to prevent, control and attendcorrectly this disease. ”
"What we are looking for is for doctors to be updated and, at the same time, that people who live with diabetes can really know the disease, because the worst of diabetes is trust and misinformation about this condition," he added.
Among the topics that will be discussed during the three days of Congress, are: education in diabetes and healthy lifestyle, complications of diabetes, pathophysiology, prevention, control and diagnosis, diabetes in pregnant children and women, treatment and emotional aspects.
Experiential workshops will also be held, in which guests will learn about: food, feet care, automation, insulin applications, exercise, mouth slaud, among others.
For this year the organizers expect more than two,500 attendees.
