The 24th Marathon of TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio, held last December and dedicated to diabetes and obesity, has definitely closed the scoreboard with a collection of 9,469,226 euros.

As reported today by the TV3 Marathon Foundation, from the day of the program, on December 13, until March 31, when donations of this edition were definitively closed, the score has grown 2.4 million euros.

Those responsible for the marathon have described the result of "exceptional fruit of the solidarity of thousands of citizens, entities and companies that will allow sensitizing and promoting research on the two most frequent metabolic diseases in Catalonia."

One million people participated in the 2,289 popular activities organized by entities and groups throughout the territory, the largest number of events held by the marathon in its 24 editions.

From the telephone venues, 2,330 volunteers offered their time to attend the thousands of calls to offer donations during the more than 15 hours of television and radio program broadcast.

With the 9.4 million euros collected, the Foundation will finance the scientific research projects of excellence that are best valued among the 136 that have been presented to the aid call.EFE
