According to data from the Ministry of Health of the Federal District (Sedesa) capital health services carry out an average of 600 thousand annual detections of diseases associated with diabetes such as hypertension, obesity, kidney problems and retinopathies.

These conditions increasingly affect the youngest population, since one in 10 people over 20 suffers and on average, three out of 10 do not know that it suffers from it, because there are no medical check -ups and diabetes is considered a"Bad silent."

Within the framework of World Diabetes Day that is commemorated on November 14, the blue circle was formed in the monument to the Revolution with the participation of organizations and companies, such as the Mexican Federation of Diabetes and Laboratories Novo Nordisk Mexico andThe Ministry of Health capital.

The head of the Sedesa, Armando Ahued Ortega revealed that in the country, diabetes is the second cause of death and there are just over 10 million patients, while in Mexico City, the mortality rate doubled in the1990-2013 period, so the DF occupies the first place nationwide.

He commented that the main claim of this blue circle is to prevent the disease with the promotion of adequate eating habits and physical activity.
