The event "Recipes for a healthy life: the defeat of diabetes", is free, and includes a social time, kitchen demonstration and food tasting, starting at 5:00 p.m.

For its part, Becky Stevens-McGuigan Executive Chef of Billings Forge will present its tips to choose the food well, and share preparations that include grill chicken skewers with green sauce, watermelon and skewers of feta cheese, toasted sweet potato salad andAn roasted cauliflower salad.

Stevens-McGuigan graduated from the Culinary Institute of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut, has learned its trade throughout New England in places like Oakland House Seaside Resort in Brooksville, Maine;The Bedford Village Inn in Bedford, New Hampshire;and The Black Forest Bakery and Café in Amherst, New Hampshire.
