What is World Diabetes Day?

World Diabetes Day (DMD) is the most important diabetes awareness campaign.It was established by the International Diabetes Federation (FID) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1991, in response to the alarming increase in cases of diabetes in the world.In 2007, the United Nations first celebrated this day after the approval of the resolution in December 2006 of World Diabetes Day, which made the existing World Diabetes Day on an official UN Health Day.
