Dr. Marisol Gil, president and founder of the Association Stories of Life and Sugar, highlighted the importance of promoting education in diabetes because it is the fundamental strut to control this disease and patients can have a quality life.

In an interview with Sexenio Puebla, the founder of this organization that is responsible for conducting different workshops and sessions to people with diabetes and their community to improve their habits, mainly food, considered it necessary for people to become aware of this condition.

He explained that type 2 diabetes represents more than 90 percent of cases in Mexico, is the only one that can be prevented with a balanced diet, exercise, go to the doctor and especially use tools to remove food sugarThey consume.

In the case of type 1 diabetes that occurs mainly in children and young people it can be at any age and can hardly be prevented.However, in the case of type 2 diabetes in children, it is located from 10 years of age and a factor that makes them vulnerable is to suffer obesity or weight.

Currently in Mexico more than 10 million people suffer from diabetes and in the world more than 350 million patients, a trend that in 25 years could increase to 60 million more.In addition, the growth cup is very high as the years go by, he said.

Marisol Gil acknowledged that all Mexicans have the possibility of suffering from type 2 diabetes or being Latin, however, clarified that this disease is multifactorial, that is, it can be given by various factors, so it is not a condition.

In this regard, he said that this time the Association Stories of Life and Sugar promoted a workshop called "Breaking paradigms", which aims to end taboos and myths about diabetes so that a person with diabetes can lead a normal life.
