The Federation of People with Diabetes will receive 1,000 credentials from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).These documents will identify them as diabetes patients to prevent inappropriate medical treatment.

"We are coordinating with the PAHO so that on Thursday, April 7, the credentials are granted. This document will take it to the entire side, as to the identity card. It will help us to receive adequate treatment if we suffer any accident," said thePresident of the Federation of Patients with Diabetes, Just Cameo.

He explained that the credential is very important because patients with diabetes cannot receive any medication."If they put a drug with ingredients not appropriate for us, we can even die," Cameo warned. He added that they will receive 1,000 credentials and the organization will distribute them among their affiliates.

He said that patients suffering from this disease are treated in at least 10 health centers and hospitals of the public system and the National Health Fund (CNS).Among them the La Paz hospital, the San Gabriel, the clinics, the worker and others.

For his part, the diabetologist Ricardo Landívar commented that the most common symptoms of the presence of the disease are: frequent urination, weight loss, excessive thirst, tiredness and blurred vision."Sometimes the pathology also manifests with vomiting," said the expert.
