One more year, and three are already there, the ISYS Foundation has presented its new 2016-2017 Health Apps and the Top 20 Health Applications of 2016, mainly valuing the criteria of trust, utility and interest.

In the Patient apps ranking, a sample of 318 health applications for patients has been evaluated, of which only 47 have been approved. Applications have to be in Spanish or Catalan, have a minimum of 500 downloads, one last reviewUpdated in 2015 or posterior, and have indicators of interest, trust and utility.

This year, as a novelty, ISYS Foundation, a non -profit entity to develop digital health social projects, has also presented the best health applications for professionals. The list to be analyzed was 240 apps that met the requirements and finally 27 applications of professionals have passed the filter. To analyze the applications for professionals, a new system has been developed, the isyscore Pro, with a team of experts - from pharmaceuticals through psychologists, physiotherapists, pediatricians and others.

The objective of the ISYS ranking is "becoming a tool that can be useful in a world as chaotic as that of the Ehealth," explained Imma Grau, director and president of the ISYS Foundation. Thus, you want to guide users and professionals, about popularity, trust and usefulness of the applications analyzed. In this way, all users have sufficient evaluation criteria to select the most appropriate health mobile applications to their needs.

The best patient app is yotecuido Alzheimerprofessionals. In the ranking dedicated to professionals, the winner has been Epic Diabetes, a scientific training program in type II diabetes mellitus for health professionals, with 5 training modules and downloadable slides. And in the Classic, Social Diabetes section, a system for the self -management of type I and II diabetes melitus.

Dr. Marta Puig, a family doctor at Casanova, has also presented her experience with Symbaloo, a virtual desk in which to have all links that can be useful to the doctor (they can be stored by themes, you can have private or public). The objective, for Puig, is "to save links that we can use in the consultation so as not to waste so much time and expedite the care work."Puig has also asked doctors to "be more proactive and offer patients reliable health links."

For his part Mònica Moro, head of Communication, Ebusiness and RSC in Menarini Spain, he explained that "the apps dedicated to professionals are in frank minority", since only 22.5% of all health apps are dedicated exclusively to them. The three specialties that prevail are those of cardiology, endocrinology/diabetes and general medicine. In addition, Moro explained that the "health apps market is saturated."The reasons are: professionals do not know which one to prescribe - they can not review them all;70% are free, so the developers will stop apps;and mobile health is still not part of health systems.“Apps have to respond to the real needs of professionals.Find apps that solve problems and needs, ”he says.
