The Ministry of Health will make free diabetes detections in modules that will install this week in the baseball stadiums of the Coahuilenses teams participating in the Mexican League, Jorge E. Verástegui Saucedo announced.
The Secretary of Health explained that the mobile health units of the agency will be added to the "Strike to Diabetes" campaign that will be carried out during this year to raise public awareness about the complications of this condition.
He stressed that in the entity the participating teams are the Saraperos de Saltillo, Vaqueros Laguna (Torreón) and NortherSports.
"In the local games of these novenas, diabetes detection modules and the strategy Mindete, Núrtete and Activate will be placed to make weight and size measurements, in addition to issuing recommendations to adopt healthy lifestyles," he added.In them, there will be specialists such as nutritionists, physical activators, doctors and trained nurses, he explained.
It established that the main risk factors such as family history, poor diet, overweight, obesity and sedentary lifestyle will be announced.
Verástegui Saucedo recalled that the permanent campaign started this year in general hospitals and health centers, in addition to the routes of the units called "Diabeton" in remote communities.He recalled that by 2016, decreed as the year of the fight against diabetes, more than 630 thousand detections in older than 20 years will be held in Coahuila.
