One year after the introduction of the FR1DA pilot project, the first results have been published: none of the 105 children diagnosed with type 1 diabetes continues to present the disease.

The FR1DA model is unique.It aims to perform beta cell autoantibodies detection - Biomarkers of type 1 diabetes - in 100,000 children.The early detection of type 1 diabetes when it is still asymptomatic can reduce the risk of a metabolic disorder that endangers life, revenues in the hospital, etc.

“We are very excited by the results obtained from the study.We believe that we are making way to preventive medicine, ”says Jessica Dunne, director of the University Prevention Program.

"With this study we intend to set new diagnosis and treatment standards of type 1 diabetes. We would like to get the diagnosis to be carried out in an initial, asymptomatic phase and that medical and psychological support for families is provided," concludes it.
