Apple has hired a high -level doctor who specializes in the treatment of children with diabetes.Rajiv Kumar, who created a monitoring application in Healthkit that was enabled for young patients with diabetes, is now working at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Stanford University part -time.
Kumar was news for his pilot application for Healthkit, who uses Apple's framework to help patients maintain an eye on the important data of their illness, such as their blood sugar levels, and then share it with medical professionals.
Kumar was able to control the bimonnsual reports of his patients to check the trends, which helped reduce the amount of data to carry the face -to -face control of their patients, for example, if a patient had consistently low or a sugar highIn the blood during the night.
Christopher Dawes, CEO of Lucile Packard, told Fast Company that the hospital cannot compete with companies such as Apple, Google and Facebook, when they really want to participate with these companies.Apple is yet to confirm the hiring.
The Cupertino company has recruited other medical professionals in recent years, in what they expect to expand their scope in medical assistance, a dream that was inspired by Steve Jobs.
Other employees include Divya Nag, a former biotechnology entrepreneur, and Mike O'Reilly, an anesthesiologist who now directs the Researchkit platform.It is not clear if Kumar will continue working with Healthkit or contribute to another service within the company.
