Fegadi camp for children with diabetes (Galicia)

About 60 boys and girls from the different Galician provinces participate in the camp.Throughout the week, they carry out outdoor activities, beach games, mountain bike trips and kayak and archery, among others.

The Fegadi camp that, as every year, organizes the Association of Diabetics of Ferrolterra, brings together these days in Moaña (Pontevedra) to 28 children from Ferrol and Region.In this meeting, companions of A Coruña, Pontevedra or Ourense are added, which increases the figure to about 60, one of the most numerous years compared to previous summers.

It is an integrating campus so that all participants - between 7 and 17 years old - come with their friends and, even family members as cousins ​​to learn about diabetes, play and share experiences with other diabetic minors.

The organization of the appointment poses an extensive program of activities, including trips in kayak and mountain bike, archery, surf initiation and climbing and immersion classes, among others.

Coexistence allows many to lose the fear of clicking in front of other people to check their blood sugar level and contributes to normalize their day to day with the disease in a stage that sometimes can be complicated for some.
