The immune system can be improved with physical exercise. Here are some links to articles that talk about this important topic.I hope they are useful.

The immune system has the function of protecting us from the pathogens around us: bacteria, viruses, fungi, ...

It is composed of different fluids, tissues and organs that are distributed mainly in: mucosa, skin, blood, lymphatic system, bone marrow and thymus.

Virus and blood in bone marrow are formed the specialized cells in the immune function such as: macrophages, dendritic cells, neutrophils, eosinophils, mast cells, monocytes and basophils.

Taking into account that most pathologies (infections, cancer, autoimmune diseases, degenerative diseases, ...) are related to problems in the immune system we will see in this article the factors that will influence both positively and negativelySome of them can influence and others are determined from before our birth:

Genetic: As we inherit from our parents the color of skin or eyes, the predisposition to suffer diseases due to poor development of the immune system is also inherited.

Age: As the years go by, there is a deterioration in organic functions, affecting the entire body and very significantly to the immune system, reducing our defenses.

Stress: produces a decrease in the number of lymphocytes T and B.

Environment: pollution, excess ozone, dust, ... weakens defenses.

Food: There are foods that strengthen the immune system:
- Molluscs: They contain zinc, an essential component for immune cells.According to the Harvard University of Medicine study, when there is a zinc deficit, lymphocytes do not work as they should.
- Yogurt: They contain probiotics capable of regulating the immune response.
- Garlic: Thanks to its antioxidants, it has the ability to combat fungi, bacteria, viruses and infections.
- Cereals: Its selenium content benefits the immune system and decreases infectious diseases. They also provide vitamin B6, whose deficiency decreases the immune response.
- Citrus: normally the colds of those who regularly consume vitamin C, last less time and are less severe.

Physical activity: regular low intensity exercise such as running, swimming, rowing, dance (at low intensity) produces great benefits on the immune system.

In the second part of the article we will carefully see the benefits that produce the regular and systematic practice of physical activity on our defenses, and as the continuous high intensity exercise has a negative impact on the immune system.
