Ciutadella hosts an act to give visibility to diabetes

Ciutadella will be the stage next Sunday of an event organized by the Association of People with Diabetes de Menorca (Expime) in order to give visibility to the disease and raise funds, they have reported Monday since the entity.

The day will begin at 10.30 am in the Plaza de los Pinos, where a "healthy" walk will begin and will continue with the musical performance of singer Ciutadellenc Bep Marquès and the formation of a large human chain.

The act is organized on the occasion of World Diabetes Day whose objectives are to raise awareness among the population in relation to the increase in the number of disease cases, and promote activities to deal with the disease.

Specifically, Adime has decided to dedicate the day to promote healthy habits to prevent, treat and have a good quality of life, both for people suffering from diabetes and those who suffer from other diseases.

In this sense, they have stressed that walking is one of the best exercises that can be done."A walk of only 30 minutes a day strengthens the heart, reduces the risk of disease, prevents osteoporosis and dementia, fights depression and prevents obesity, among many other benefits," they said.
