"It is important to carry out these days to raise awareness about diabetes as a problem of our population in the development of a timely diagnosis," said the legislator in the meeting.

Marisol Merquel. The provincial deputy for the Victoria Front, Marisol Merquel, participated in the awareness day "Let's talk about diabetes and obesity: know and prevent for a healthy life."

It was organized by the Association Supply, the Argentine Federation of Diabetes and the Postgraduate Department of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the UNLP, with the aim of deepening the analysis and design of legislative frameworks about these problems to advance in thePromotion of a healthy life for Buenos Aires.

The meeting also participated by the provincial deputies José Ottavis, the president of the Health Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Alejandra Lorden (Cambiemos);The former provincial deputy Juan de Jesús and the president of the Association Support, Ana Carla Perazzo.In addition, the activity had the exhibitions of the medical pediatricians María Pia Santucci and Guadalupe Pietropaolo, the graduates in Nutrition Gastón Aizpitarte, Claudia Pérez and Florencia Carletti.

During the activity, health professionals analyzed eating habits and problems around diabetes and obesity as an epidemic, prevention actions were worked on and sharing the work carried out by organizations that support people with diabetes.In addition, a practical sustainable food workshop was developed to work on prevention from a family environment.

For his part, Merquel explained that “it is important to carry out these days to raise awareness about diabetes as a problem of our population in the development of a timely diagnosis, in addition to providing education to children, adolescents and adults with diabetes as well as toits family, school and work environment ”.
