Hello, I send you the first part of the last article that I have sent on the effects of resistance training on our learning capacity and its effects as a protective shield of our brain. You can see it in the following address.

Traditionally there has been talk of the importance of regular physical exercise for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, weight control, as well as to feel better encouragement. In this article we go further, also treating the exercise as a protective shield of our brain and as a stimulator of the stimulator of thelearning and memory.

According to the neurologist Fernando Gómez Pinilla, the aerobic exercises (running, swimming, bike ride, ...) will stimulate the formation of the BDNF protein, this protein increases the number of internneuronal connections, causing learning. In addition, BDNFs will act as neurotransmitters (chemical substances in charge of signal transmission between neurons), all this will make it easier to learn new things and remain in our brain for longer.

There are a whole series of studies that demonstrate this theory, we will see some of them:

- Group of neuroscientists of the Faculty of Psychology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona have worked with rats doing two groups.Gurpo 1: Rats locked in polls, these rats had a wheel at their polls where they ran.Group 2: Rats locked in polls where there is no element that allows them to run. After a period of time the rats were subjected to some tests in which they had to solve some labyrinths to get food, and it was seen that the rats that had carried out physical activity managed to solve the tests before and reach the food.

- At the University of Illinois, a test was done with 120 people over 55 years old.Group 1: They were 40 minutes a day three times a week.Group 2: They performed only toning exercises. This activity was carried out for one year, a year were made a magnetic resonance and saw that the group that exercised aerobic increased approximately 2% the size of the hippocampus, while those who did toning work had decreased this brain zone between 1.40% and 1.43%.This does not mean that the toning exercise causes the size of the hippocampus to decrease, since as Julio Sanjuan states of the Biomedical Research Center in Mental Health Network, the deterioration of the hippocampus is reduced by 2.1% annual in adults.

- Hillman et al, did the following test with a group of 20 9 -year -old students, divided them into two groups.Group1: Walk to fast pace on a tape for 20 minutes.Group2: Without physical activity. After 20 minutes of rest, children were subjected to a series of tests related to spelling, reading and mathematics obtaining better results in all the tests the children of the group that had performed physical activity. This is because they increased the capacity to concentrate for the realization of the task.

- Alberg et al, established a relationship between cardiovascular resistance and intellectual capacity. This study shows that people with greater cardiovascular capacity had greater global intelligence, greater logical capacity and greater verbal capacity.Genes training

With everything seen so far, we could say that people who do aerobic exercise are smarter than those who do not, but it is not so, since regular aerobic physical activity is a key piece to maximize our brain, butNot the only one.Genetics not only marks the color of the skin, height, or the color of the eyes, but also intellectual capacity.Intellectual training, that is, read, study, crosswashed, solveProblems, learn new languages, investigate, etc ... is essential to develop the brain. It also influences food having the most important brick to build a good brain the omega-3, and mainly the DHA found in fish (10 times greater than any vegetable).Sleeping 7 -8 hours a day is another key piece for brain plasticity.

Studies have been done with individuals in situations on equal terms or very similar, so the results are better for those who do physical activity.
