Two hundred people meet at the Congress of People with Diabetes

Some 200 people gathered yesterday in Badajoz in the XV Congress of People with Diabetes de Extremadura, organized by Fadex and the Badajoz Diabetics Cultural Association, and in parallel a campaign of awareness and prevention of diabetes has also been carried out.

After the inauguration by the authorities, the presentations have been developed such as the presentation of the '21 days' program, developed by the Boehringer Ingelheim and Lilly alliance.It is an online educational program that aims to help people with type 2 diabetes through change towards healthier habits in order to improve their cardiovascular health.

Subsequently, representatives of the Extremaduran Health Service have presented the School of Care and Health, which the Board of Extremadura intendsof press.

In addition, the presentations' Fadex were given.Good practices', 'Diabetes and Women', and 'The toilets think', to end with a volunteer capture table.

Parallel to Congress and on the occasion of the celebration of World Diabetes Day, which was on November 14, there have been other activities aimed at sensitizing and preventing the disease.

Thus, in the Plaza de San Francisco, test measurement and control of hair glycemia controls have been carried out to try to detect hidden diabetes in the population and a walk with the motto 'For diabetes, get underway!'

On the other hand, throughout the week various buildings and monuments of the city have enlightened in blue, for being blue the color of World Diabetes Day.
