The workshop 'Learning to live with diabetes' is aimed at people suffering from that evil in their types I and II, to their relatives and public in general.

The course consists of ten Saturday sessions with schedules from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Rotary Club of Mérida A.C.He teaches the workshop course learning to live with diabetes, aimed at people suffering from that evil in their types I and II, their relatives and the general public.

The association has been offered for 25 years uninterrupted.

“The course was focused on educating diabetes, a disease that requires changes in food habits and knowing the characteristic symptoms.The program is educational to lead a healthy lifestyle.All people who wish to learn can go, ”explained Eyra Gutiérrez Wu, president of the club.

Diabetes is a chronic disease that appears because the pancreas does not produce the amount of insulin that the human body needs or produces it in a lower quality.

Insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas, is the main substance responsible for the maintenance of proper blood sugar values.It allows glucose to be transported to the interior of the cells, so that they produce energy or store glucose until their use is necessary.

When it fails, it causes an excessive increase in sugar that contains blood (hyperglycemia).

The interviewee added that this course consists of ten Saturday sessions and began last Saturday.The schedule is from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the headquarters is the Friendship House of the Rotary Club of Mérida located in Itzimná.
