The conscience of United for Diabetes

The entity develops activities to spread the reality of the disease, "which affects all ages."

Since its birth a few months ago, United by Diabetes San Fernando maintains an active proposal in its objective of making the disease known, warning the population of its consequences and the need to attend to the symptoms to be treated properly.

In these months of birth, therefore, a constant support task to families with diabetic people, with tools to maintain contact, even 24 hours through WhatsApp.

The task of citizen awareness is also important, which will continue to occupy them in the coming months with activities that its president, Yolanda Muñoz, has made known.

In his short life, the collaboration he performs with the city's health centers is striking, after contacting the head of Endocrinology of the Puerta del Mar Hospital, Dr. Manuel Aguilar;with Victoria de la Flor, of the Ministry of Health;with Manuel García, Nursing Coordinator in Primary Care of the Cayetano Roldán Health Center;and with Manuela Lacida, head of nursing of the Bahía de Cádiz-La Janda health district.

The result of this is the involvement in the nutrition workshops that have been carried out in the Ardila Health Center (Joaquín Pece), in a clear sample of the importance of food to prevent or control the disease.

Equally important is the physical exercise hence they plan a walk, under the program one million steps, along the Carrascón path for March 14."We will start from the Magdalena pool at 10 am," said Yolanda Muñoz, who estimates that he will last around an hour.

To these actions, the awareness that they carry out in pharmacies with free glucose measurements on Fridays of the month are joined.They will continue in the coming months since through Dr. Lechuga they have joined the call of the Official College of Pharmacists of the La Diabetes campaign is no age.

And also in schools, where they plan visits "and not skip any."Now, in addition, they begin to mobilize to raise funds with which children can go camping in arches, to continue their diabetological education.
