The Federation of Celiac Associations of Spain estimates, according to various studies, that one in 100 people are gluten intolerant and 85% of those who suffer from it are not diagnosed to be celiac without diagnosing can cause depression, infertility or diabetes, among othersMore serious diseases, the Federation of Celiac Associations of Spain (FACE) has reported.

On the occasion of the celebration of the National Celiac Day held on May 27, the FACE has launched the campaign as soon as you know, the better with the aim of attracting attention to the importance of early diagnosis, it has detailed in a statement.

According to various studies, it is estimated that one in 100 people suffers from celiacy and that 85 percent of people are not yet diagnosed.

With the aim of attracting attention to the importance of early diagnosis, Face has made the video in which some of the pathologies and symptoms highlight a celiac person without a diagnosis can suffer or develop.

Some of them are the most common such as vomiting, chronic fatigue, herpetiform dermatitis, lack of appetite, apathy or growth delay, but there are others much more serious and unknown such as depression, diabetes, infertility, abortion or lymphoma.

All these diseases, according to the association, can be avoided with a diagnosis in time that will cause the celiac patient to start as soon as possible the only possible treatment, a strict gluten -free diet for life.

The diagnosis is performed through a careful clinical examination and a blood analytical, which includes serological markers of celiac disease.

To confirm the diagnosis, it is essential to perform an intestinal biopsy without removing the gluten of the diet, proof that consists in the extraction of a tissue sample of the small small intestine to see whether or not it is damaged.

The situation of diagnosis of pediatric age has improved in recent years, although the same does not happen with adults since it manifests with more nonspecific symptoms and there is a tendency to be confused with other pathologies.

For this reason, FACE met last year with representatives of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, to promote a renewal of the 2008 early diagnostic protocol and for it to include a protocol.

This is due to the need to verify that celiac people are properly carrying their treatment, since according to recent studies, almost 50 % of them do not perform the gluten -free diet, either voluntarily or involuntaryly.

Good day.Dr. Polanco, an eminence in research from Celiaquía says;"Everyone is celiac until the opposite is demonstrated."I urge all my forms that feel malucos, with undetermined symptoms, (bone, extradigestive symptoms) and especially to those who have been diagnosed with irritable colon, that the relevant tests are performed. And no, serological markers are not worth, since in adults they almost always leave false negatives.A gluten -free diet is a whore!, But the quality of life that is gained is worth any sacrifice, in addition to avoiding many very chungas diseases.Greetings to all.
