The Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris) suspended an establishment that manufactured products that said they relieve problems of diabetes, digestive, nervous, renal and hepatic, among others.
The products belong to the Proher Natura and/or Figurevit brand and were marketed as natural supplements online and through catalogs, the dependence warned on its website.
In addition, he asked the population not to use those products or those of the demographic brand, which are marketed as auxiliaries to lose weight, tone fatty tissues or reinforce the immune system.
These items are sold by several Internet platforms, from Mercado Libre and Kichink, even on Facebook and Twitter, he said.
The Cofepris issued two sanitary alerts on Thursday to warn the population about the health risk of consuming those products that do not have a sanitary record or prove that they are manufactured with quality, safety and efficiency.
In accordance with the provisions of the General Health Law, products that have preventive and rehabilitation therapeutic indications require a sanitary record.If they do not have it and are not medications, miracle products are considered.
The Federal Commission said that surveillance actions will continue to avoid the sale of products thus, through the closure of establishments that distribute or market them, ensure illegal items and imposing fines, which can be exceeding one million pesos for violatingThe current health regulation.
He indicated that parcel and messaging companies with international services must refrain from distributing nutritional supplements that come from abroad.
To import these articles, they require an import permit issued by Cofepris or can be sanctioned with similar amounts.
