A free workshop, whose objective is to guide patients about how to face the disease for a better quality of life.
With the objective of promoting the education and prevention of diabetes, the Ministry of Public Health of the municipality of San Isidro organizes the “clarifying doubts” workshop for diabetic patients and belonging groups.It begins on Saturday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 12 in the Aula Magna of the Central Hospital (Santa Fe 431).
The head of the Nutrition and Diabetology Section of the Central Hospital, María Virginia Prieto, explained that in addition to healthy eating, physical activity and drugs, special emphasis on diabetological education is made in the meetings.
“We guide patients in which food to choose, at what time control blood glucose, what exercise should and when, how to avoid hypoglycemia or sugar downturn;and how to organize medication for your best use.With knowledge and practice, patients achieve better decisions, ”added the doctor.
In the workshop, practical exercises of all necessary procedures are carried out such as the use of blood glucose control equipment and insulin application technique, among others.
After this Saturday, the call will continue August 5, September 2, October 7 and November 11.
