People with diabetes, discriminated to some public jobs

The Spanish Diabetes Federation (FEDE) began a campaign last January, whose fundamental objective is the update of exclusion medical cadres that include diabetes as one of the diseases that limit access to certain public positions.First, representatives of this patient association met with the Ombudsman to inform him that these pictures "are obsolete because they date from 1988".
"On 2017 agenda of their cabinet they have on the table the update of the medical exclusion cadres" This regulation prevents a person with diabetes, regardless of their good health, being a police officer, firefighter or assistant to prison institutions.
Fede's manager, Mercedes Maderuelo, explains to consalud.es that diabetes as an exclusion to exercise these professionsThey have denied access to professions that currently can develop without any problem. ”
After meeting with the Ombudsman, from this institution they confirmed to Fede that they would proceed to the development of the study of their petition and that they would transfer it to the Secretariat of State for Public Function, under the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.Without going any further, last June, FEDE representatives met with the Director of Public Function, who confirmed that “on the 2017 agenda of their cabinet they have on the table the update of the exclusion medical cadres”.
Maderuelo regrets that it costs so much that institutions take action on the matter.In his opinion, the administration "is slow" and recognizes that there is "lack of knowledge on the part of those who are legislating."Even so, patients maintain the hope that this time, finally, the modification of the regulations will be carried out."We confine this, we will be very heavy and very insistent," says Fede's manager.

First when he says that "they started a campaign", where .. in national media or in specialized magazines that only some patients suffer from the disease?Secondly, they have only had a meeting/appointment (a good office, good morning, good chairs, fresh water, soft drinks, a snack and many photos) and have told them that they will put him on the agenda.It sounds like when you go to the City Council to talk to the mayor or councilor to complain about something irregular, they meet, you go to the appointment (after waiting for the rigor time you want to attend), you tell you the problem and tell youThat is in this year's proposal and do not worry half inviting, "come on but go."So I really hope, both first for Fede which represents a large number of people, as much as the institutions, who really meet with true intention of changing such atrocity and even grievable with the rest of the people the obstacles because foraccess or get something by right.
