Hi, I'm new in the forum.I've been with diabetes for 30 years and attended me outside Spain.Now I am in Madrid and the experience in both the Ramón y Cajal hospital and in the immigrants center have not been good, in the first one they just look at you, they throw a anger and quote you for the next 3 months and in the last one almostI was crying.In the end I have been seeing any doctor for 8 months.I am looking for information from a specialist who is kind, listen and have a minimum of education. I am also looking for some medical insurance that includes us.Any information that they have would appreciate them.

Good morning @Arill.Almost all forum partners are attended by public health and report that they receive excellent attention and benefits.The best doctors are in the public.As for the mutual ones, I think that no coverage to diabetics 1, I don't know if there are the same restrictions for diabetes 2. @"Arill" I live in Madrid and treat me very well in the public system by the Jiménez Diaz Foundation. Ask for a specialist change if you don't like how they treat you.In general, attention is good. By private I went to the Quiron but there is no medical insurance that includes diabetes and treatment (lancet, glucose strips, needles and insulin itself) is expensive to do it without subsidy.
We can be happy with the Public Health System.As there can be someone who gets out of the standard but the general rule is that we have first -line professionals.
Ask for a doctor's change if you are not satisfied.You must not have any problem that they will achieve it.In fact it is a patient's right.
