Díaz has reiterated the "commitment" of the Board government with the treatment and investigation of diabetes, a health problem that currently affects almost a million Andalusians.The Comprehensive Diabetes Plan in Andalusia coordinates, since 2003, the resources available around this pathology, reinforcing the preventive and health promotion scope, promoting the quality of health care after diagnosis, through the integrated care process, and facilitating the participation of people associations with diabetes.
More than 2,000 people-specially minor and Andalusian adolescents-who suffer from diabetes benefit from the new glucose monitoring systems that were incorporated into the Andalusian public health portfolio last April.The implementation of these devices in all provinces has meant an additional investment of 3.5 million euros.
