New collaboration agreement to defend the rights of people with diabetes

The Diabetes Foundation and the Spanish Diabetes Federation (FEDE) have signed this morning a collaboration agreement to enhance and develop the defense of the rights of people with diabetes, as well as improve their quality of life and full integration in allThe fields of life.

For the manager of the Diabetes Foundation, Ana Mateo, the agreement is "excellent news because it will favor the achievement of the common objectives of fighting against the increase in the prevalence of diabetes and promoting knowledge of this disease as an important problemof public health ".

With this agreement, which has been signed by Ana Mateo, manager of the Diabetes Foundation, and Andoni Lorenzo Garmendia, president of Fede, the basis of synergies are established in two of the objectives of two organizations.

On the one hand, in the promotion and support of the diabetological education of people with diabetes, improving their knowledge and skills, and training them to assume control of the disease with the aim of avoiding associated complications.
The collaboration will last one year, throughout which both institutions will work in a coordinated manner to launch different actions with which to achieve their defense and improvement objectives of the quality of life of people with diabetes.

Specifically, the Collaboration Framework Document includes the collaboration commitment in the campaign of the Diabetes Foundation 'Reta to Diabetes' that aims to change the mentality of people with diabetes instilling in them the need to incorporate physical activity into their routinedaily and improve their eating habits through different sports challenges.

For his part, the president of Fede, Andoni Lorenzo, has influenced the importance of collaboration between both organizations, because "by having similar objectives, without a doubt, the social scope of each action that is put intomarch, impacting the improvement of the quality of life of patients and family;
