"Youth Diabetes" Foundation, collect funds to provide insulin (Ecuador)

Several groups of the “Youth Diabetes” Foundation made a collection in different parts of the city.The activity began at 10:00 and until noon the support of citizens was great.

The economic funds collected, will be allocated for the purchase of medicines and supplies, for people with one and two diabetes, who attend the Foundation, where the products are given free of charge.

Citizens can approach this place and buy products at a low price than those of a pharmacy.

Erika Ruales of the "Youth Diabetes" Foundation explained that they help children and adolescents who have type one diabetes, so they made a collection to raise funds, for annual events.He thanked the support of the Latacungueños to the executed initiative.

They have a sponsorship program, in which a person or institution, with a monthly, quarterly or annual donation, helps them to deliver insulin and supplies to children and adolescents with low economic resources in a monthly and free way.

They have agreements with several companies and that allow them to market supplies such as radioactive strips, insulin, lancets and all the inputs that a person with type one diabetes needs and two types at lower prices, unlike the costs they can find in pharmacies.

The fund collection campaign is carried out every year in Quito and Guayaquil.For the first time it was carried out in Latacunga, where they had several teams working and received the support of the citizens, who collaborated with the initiative.The collection began at 10:00.
