Francisco Javier Carrasco Sánchez, internal medicine specialist at the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital (Huelva), is the new coordinator of the Diabetes and Obesity Working Group of the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine (SEMI).

It has been Carrasco himself who has announced it through the social network Twitter."A great challenge, to position the group as a reference in teaching and research in diabetes," he said.There have been numerous internists who have rushed to congratulate the new coordinator, including the president of the SEMI, Antonio Zapatero.

The Diabetes and Obesity Group of the SEMI was coordinated so far by Javier Ena Muñoz, internist from the Marina Baixa Hospital (Villajoyosa, Alicante).There are more than 650 internists who belong to this group, one of the largest in medical society, dedicated to promoting the investigation and formation of its members in the treatment of one of the most prevalent diseases in Spain.
