The prevalence of hypovitaminosis D in Spain is very high, and often the diet and sun exposure do not cover the daily needs of this nutrient, so the Advanced Kit ‘vitamin D health project arises.

The lack of vitamin D is a reality already in Spanish society.Vitamin D participates both in the secretion and release of insulin and in resistance to the latter, so it could influence the development of diabetes.

This is corroborated by Dr. Rebeca Reyes, of the Clinical Management Unit of Endocrinology and Nutrition of the Torrecárdenas hospital complex (Almería) and Endocrinology Service of the San Pedro Clinic (Almería), within the framework of the Cycle I of the Advanced program 'VitaminD Health ', an initiative of Faes Farma to publicize the importance of vitamin D in the global functioning of the organism.

The specialist recognizes that "recent studies show that, in people with type 2 diabetes, high dose administration of vitamin D (up to 4000UI/day) can induce a positive effect on glycemic control."On the other hand, in relation to type 1 diabetes mellitus, "there are also observational studies that suggest a possible relationship between vitamin D deficit and a higher risk of DM1," says Dr. Reyes.

It is conclusive that the influence of vitamin D on the processes of production and/or insulin resistance is determined by concrete effects on the beta cell and muscle metabolism. Therefore, vitamin D could be a future treatment option.

At least, and as a starting point, "the determination of 25 Oh vitamin D and a possible supplementation based on the levels of this group of patients should be assessed."

The Advanced Kit ‘Vitamin D health’ project
The prevalence of hypovitaminosis D in Spain is essentially high, even among healthy individuals, since often diet and sun exposure does not cover the daily needs of this vitamin. Therefore, the main objective of the Advanced Kit ‘Vitamin D health’ project is to allow health professionals to deepen the knowledge of bone and extraós benefits of vitamin D and help in the management of the patient with deficit of this vitamin.

The program delves into the prevention and treatment of different disorders and pathologies through vitamin D, in addition to providing a rigorous scientific basis. All documents in this initiative will be available throughout 2018 for free through the Faes Farma website.

I usually measure it sometimes when I do analysis, in some winter it has given me subopymal levels, but to nothing that I have exposed to the sun several days rapidly increases (10-15 minutes without cream). If long periods are passed without exposing themselves to the sun it is difficult to have it well ...

@"Nigiri" with all the problems that vitamin D has, I think it is worth taking it in case you are quite quite in the sun.In addition, in the case of women who are more prone to osteoporosis, it is even more important.

Sherpa41@ with which you want to work a few minutes, for example, it is enough (they say).It is that in winter I can spend quietly 1 whole month or 2 and sometimes up to 3 without seeing the sun.Of course the best thing is to do analysis and check that it is fine, and voila.
