Daniel Albero, "The Dakar diabetic", has just returned from Morocco after participating just two months ago in the 2018 Merzouga Rally, one of the competitions included in the Dakar Series calendar.

The popularly known as "El Merzouga" brings together the best pilots in the world of rallies, to test their physical status and that of their vehicles for the great races of the season (Dakar 2019 and Africa Eco Race 2019).

More than 1,000km of long, intense and full of dunes stages touring the Atlas media and the north of the Sahara, where Albero has ended in the 50th position."Having participated in a rally in the dimensions of Merzouga shows that our project is more alive than ever, and that the forecast is to continue for the next season, although we have to fight a lot."

"Nothing is easy in the world of high competition, but even less if you don't have enough economic resources ..." - says Daniel Albero- "... although our sponsors and technical suppliers do everything possible (and more) to continue fightingFor our goals.I know that later or soon, we will get it, ”he adds.

“Our project has gone through many phases, and, although it is now in a good time and we expect better face forecasts next season, it is essential that companies continue to support this social project that aims to take type 1 diabetes to the highest levelDeportivo in the motor world, ”he says.

Now, for the fifth consecutive year, the team 'A diabetic in the Dakar' will participate in the Queen of the off-road in Spain: the Low Aragon 2018. In its 35th edition, which is held from July 19 to 22 inTeruel and the Jiloca regions and mining basins, more than 200 vehicles registered in the categories of motorcycles, quads, cars and trucks will participate.

Although the layout has not yet been revealed, the Aragonese race will complete a total of 827 kilometers in which the local public- and much come from all corners of Spain- will encourage the runners at each stage.“Without a doubt, the Low Aragon has nothing to do with other races, why here, we play at home. Now people already know our project and many people come to visit us, encourage us and congratulate us for the work done. ”

“In addition, we have a great relationship with the Teruel Diabetics Association and we are always glad to see people- and especially, girls and boys- who are excited to see our stand in the paddock, to take pictures with motorcycles, etc. This, without a doubt, is what gives our project true meaning: people who feel identified with us, ”says Albero.

During the 3 days that the race lasts, the team "A diabetic in the Dakar" will narrate on its social networks (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) the pilot's day to day, as well as share exclusive information of the project on its website www.undiabeticoeneldakar.org.
