The Satse Nursing Union and the Spanish Diabetes Federation have underlined the need for all educational centers to have the presence of a nursing professional who can respond to the needs of children and young people with diabetes, in addition to doing work ofInformation, education, assistance and scheduled and urgent care to the child and youth population.
According to both entities, at present, the vast majority of Spanish public educational centers do not have the assistance of a nursing professional, which entails that teachers and families have to "take responsibility for the care, control and monitoring of children andYoung people with diabetes, with the consequent difficulties for all of them. "
The two entities, in addition, have signed a collaboration agreement to develop projects of common interest that improve the attention and care of people with diabetes by the professionals entitled in Nursing.
