The community pharmacy has a relevant role in relation to diabetes. The proximity of this professional to patients and their relatives allows to successfully face aspects of great importance for this disease such as information for their prevention, detection and adherence to treatment.

In this sense, the General Council of Official Pharmaceutical Colleges (CGCOF) has prepared its pharmacological point No. 129 that offers information to pharmacists about diabetes mellitus, its treatment or the fundamental role of the care pharmacist, on the occasion of World Day of World Day ofThe diabetes held this November 14.

On this occasion, the commemoration has the motto 'The family and diabetes' and has stated as objectives to increase the awareness of the impact that diabetes has on the family and the support network of those affected, as well as and promote the role ofThe family in the management, care, prevention and education of diabetes.

In this regard, it should be remembered that the CGCOF and the Spanish Diabetes Federation (FEDE) are already working on this matter and, for this purpose, they signed an agreement with the aim of improving the quality of the care of people with diabetes.
