How many type 1 diabetics are in the world?

If we look at the world -class diabetes figures, we will realize that the data is really spectacular, they make this "pandemic" one of the most widespread in the history of humanity.

422 million adults worldwide have diabetes, that is, 1 in 11 people in the world suffer from diabetes.

If people with diabetes were the inhabitants of a single country, it would be the third largest country in the world, just behind China and India and ahead of the United States.

It is estimated that 3.7 million deaths occur that are caused by diabetes and high blood glucose, and there are also 1.5 million deaths directly caused by diabetes.

Now, of this total, how many diabetics are type 1?

It is estimated that between 5% and 10% of people with diabetes are of type 1, let's say that we talk about 7%, thus, 422 million and rounding, we could say that 30 million people in the world are of type 1 .

I think you have not taken into account the high lethality of the T1 if it is not treated and, unfortunately, in many countries the diagnosis of T1 in practice is a death sentence.Hopefully your numbers were correct !!!!
