Adjust the basal

Cdb1's profile photo   06/06/2021 11:34 a.m.

Last night I went to bed with 271mg I put me 18uds from Lantus and got up with 84mg

Would you have to increase 2 units the basal right?

Greetings,

Hello.I don't understand your question very well, with 84 I think you've got up well.

@CDB1

It is clear that the 18 or have worked well to lower that glycemia so high at night.

What you should avoid is to go to bed in 271. If you manage to lie normally, around 100-120, then you will have to do the opposite: substantially lower basal insulin.You can have a nocturnal hypoglycemia.Something to avoid.

The basal does not have to touch what you have to fix 270. You should not go to bed with such a high blood glucose.

@CDB1, yes at night it lowered you from 270 to 80, you are too slow.
The normal thing is that it can stay quite stable at night, without that great descent.
And as they have already said, you have to go to bed with lower values.

Good morning people, a question, when uploading the basal, what is better to upload it one by one or two by two?

@sadman, because it depends on the amount you wear and the effect you do to you., Try a first unit ..

They told me two by two but as I wear little I do one in one because with one I already notice the difference.

To me 2 in 2, but I rise from 1 in 1 and low from 2 in 2. I fear the hypos, so extreme prudence in the adjustments
