The truth is that I no longer tell rations a long time ago, it has never done well, the need to insulin with the same G of HC and the same foods vary according to the time of day, if you are with the rule, it depends on the age, thehormones and a thousand more variables.For a long time I still have a low food in hydrates and my life has changed, my controls have improved greatly, the gly of 7.2 to 5.4 and I needed to lose weight and I have done it.
Of course, not as paste neither bread nor rice nor potato, HC there are also in vegetables, legumes and fruits (such as the least rise), and my curves are with less peaks and more flat.

I do not count the portions, but the grams of HC.To have rations I would have to divide everything by 10, both what I know I have to eat and what the food containers say.

The first time an educator tried to get me how many rations ate from beans with potatoes showing me photos, I insistently answered that the dish that had 100g of potatoes and 200g of beans.

I think you mixture a little carbohydrates with I.G.

Platano 50 gr = 1 ration.That is independent of the IG.And that is what you have to count for your insulin units.The IG is a neutral 50. A very low IG (around 30 like apricots) only means that carbohydrates enter slower, but enter.A high IG (75 like watermelon) that enter faster.None of that alter insulin units.

What is the IG?If you are going to move or be very low or high to graduate when to put the insulin (and sometimes how much).For example, if you are very low of blood glucose, take a food with a high IG to recover before.If you are something low and take food with low IG and then you will take a walk, you can consider reducing insulin, because carbohydrates will enter slowly, probably while you walk and it will need less insulin.

I know ... it is nothing easy ... and also each of us react differently and you only have to try yourself/same and write down how it works.
