Spain has more than 1.5 million people with diabetes still without diagnosing

Andalusia leads the ranking between the autonomous communities of patients with diabetes without medical diagnosis, followed by Catalonia and Madrid / Fede, through the campaign 'Do not give the back to diabetes', wants to make visible the importance of having an early diagnosis and early diagnosisa correct diabetological education.
Spain has more than 1.5 million people with diabetes without their condition being identified, according to the Diabetes study, prepared by the Biomedical Research Center in Red Diabetes and Associated Metabolic Diseases (CIBERDEM).

In fact, and according to the figures extracted from the report on the economic impact of type 2 diabetes in Spain, the amounts derived from diabetes imply a sanitary expenditure of 5,809 million euros per year, of which 2,143 million are due to complicationsDerived from the disease, and could be reduced whether patients with diabetes were provided, by public administration, a correct diabetological education.This request is precisely the main objective of the campaign does not give the back to Fede diabetes.
Of the 1.5 million affected even without a diagnosis, Andalusia is the autonomous community that records the greatest volume, with 274,568 people affected, and leads this ranking, followed by Catalonia, which occupies the second position, with 246,406 affected;and Madrid that, thirdly, records 211,845 cases.
In addition, the Andalusians are the ones with more people with diabetes, both diagnosed and without diagnosing, register at the national level, with 823,704 affected.In the same order, they follow in the Ranking Catalonia, with 739,218 patients;Madrid (635,535);and Valencian Community (502,992).With figures far superior to Galicia, with 275,289 patients with diabetes, or Castilla y León, with 251,856.
La Rioja, the community with less patients without diagnosis
On the opposite side, among the Autonomous Communities where less patients with diagnostic diabetes are recorded, are the Rioja, which has 10,575 cases;followed by Cantabria, who with almost double cases records 19,426 patients without diagnosing;followed by Navarra, with a figure of 20,891 affected.
Before such a panorama, Juan Francisco Perán, president of Fede, has stated that “it is important that those affected by diabetes are aware that they suffer from this pathology and, following this, they can access the correct diabetological formation they need, from the sameMoment of debut, and thus be able to have your diabetes under control.This diabetological education also has to be taught by properly prepared health professionals. ”With this, both quality of life for patients and a reduction of health costs to the National Health System (SNS) would be achieved.

@Fer is a bit absurd in the article because just the diabetic ratio coincides with the numerical order of communities with more number of inhabitants:
