VIII Edition of the Fede Awards

The Spanish Diabetes Federation (FEDE) delivered yesterday, October 16, of the awards of the VIII edition of the FEDE - Mercedes Sánchez Benito Awards, within the framework of the celebration of its VI National Congress, in CaixaForum of Madrid, inThe one who gathered about 250 people, becoming one of the most massive calls for diabetes association in Spain.
These decorations recognize the work of Fede Federations and Associations, which have launched projects that improve the quality of life of people with diabetes, and that promote the importance of associationism to achieve these objectives.
Ana Belén Torrijos, president of the Federation of Diabetes Associations of the Community of Madrid (FADCAM) and the Association of Diabetes de Leganés;and Juantxo Remón, president of the Navarra Association of Diabetes (ANADI) and 1st Vice President of the Board of Directors of Fede, were responsible for conducting the presentation of the awards ceremony, in which childhood, quality of life and theAssociationism were the protagonists.
In this edition, in which there was the collaboration and support of Dexcom, MSD, Novo Nordisk and Once, up to 168 Fede Federations and Associations of Fede could attend.
Of the 26 general candidacies presented, the winners were the Diabetes Association of Elda and Region, in the category ‘Health and quality of life’, for their project “Eating habits in people with diabetes”;The Valladolid Diabetes Association (Adiva), in the category ‘New Technologies and Innovation’, for the “Oscar, my life status” project;and the Association for Diabetes de Gran Canaria (Adigran), in the category ‘Youth Participation’, for its project “Yes, I can eat that”.And both these winning projects, and those that were finalists, can already be consulted through this link.
In addition, and one more year, two mentions of honor were granted, one at the proposal of the jury and another, by the Fede Board of Directors.
The first of them recognized the health care and the work of a professional dedicated to diabetes, specifically that of Francisco Javier Ortega Ríos, family doctor of the Health Center “Campos - Lampreana” of Zamora, member of the Redgdps Foundation, a member of thePrimary Care Group of the Spanish Society of Diabetes and Doctor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca.
And the second, fell to María Sonia Gaztambide Sáenz, president of the foundation of the Spanish Diabetes Society (SED), Dr. Cum Laude in Medicine from the University of the Basque Country, member in the National Commission of Endocrinology and Nutrition, Head of the Serviceof Endocrinology and Nutrition of the Cruces Hospital (Bizkaia), for its involvement and commitment to the well -being of the group of people with diabetes.

Hija de 35 años , diabética desde los 5. Glico: normalmente de 6 , pero 6,7 la última ( 6,2 marcaba el Free)
