Frequent and worrying forgetfulness and mistakes

YaizaJ's profile photo   09/17/2023 7:36 p.m.

Hello I have type 1 diabetes for 40 years, now I have 48.

I have 7 gyzes and I have no complications at the moment I use half -unit insulin feathers.

I have forgot things for years and I have many mistakes of the guy when I drive, I don't know what I go, I have to look at it, I don't remember the names of people who haven't seen for a long time, sometimes I don't get the words to me for5 years or more.

At the computer level it costs me, I do not remember the steps to do something if I do not point it.

I lose everything and before it did not happen to me.

In the dissimulation work so that they do not think that I am silly and it is not the Strès on vacation also happens to me.

Does anyone else happen?

In my family nobody has dementia. It is for diabetes.

As a young man they gave me hypos and with loss of consciència but with the sensors it no longer happens to me.

As I continue with 60 I will not know what my name is.

I think I have or dementia or ADHD or is diabetes.

Greetings!

Well, you are telling the story of my life.
I have only been with diabetes and my mistakes for 2 years, they are always.I don't see that they have worsened with the disease. After seeing channels that talk about the attention deficit disorder I am convinced that I suffer from it.Without hyperactivity, I am quite calm and calm.
Reflect on whether in your childhood and youth you already had those lapse. To reassure you, I will tell you that he who has dementia is not usually aware of it.The fact that you consider it is a good sign.
If you really worry, tell your doctor, there will be a protocol to detect if it is a pathology.

Diabetes does not affect.Ask for an appointment with neurology, there are a lot of diseases: dementia, aphasia, cognitive losses, Alzheimer's, etc.
The sooner they discard or treat you better.

It also happens to me and I am not diabetic.
Sometimes you think about several things at once and don't stop.

Of course it also happens to non -diabetics, but studies say that if you are diabetic you are more likely !!
And it also rains without clouds but if it is cloudy and thunder because there will be a higher percentage, I say,

I ... this issue would stop debating it here.
I would directly go to the header to send me to the neurologist.
It can be from diabetes, from another disease, some medication ... but I wouldn't let it go ...
A hug!!

Until a specialist does not see you, you can't know for sure if it is for diabetes or for another reason. What is clear and studied is that diabetics are also more likely to neurological "failures".I feel something very similar.Taking some tasks I feel that I am slowly than the others, I forget many things, etc. Before it did not happen to me.

I don't know what level of stress you have, but it is closely related to attention deficits and memory failures. It happens to me when I have stress peaks, the rest of the time does not, and I have been diabetes for almost 57 years.Anyway, discarding any other pathology consulting the doctor, as other colleagues have said, I think it would be the best.

Hello, I think what happens to you is that you are becoming.

I am diabetic since childhood, I am more than 60 years old and I have also had times of severe hypoglycemia.Sometimes I forgot the name of an actor, or I leave the car keys, or I do not remember whether I have thrown the coffee saccharin. But I don't think all that is due to diabetes, but happens to everyone.Obsesting with mental health is one of the most insidious forms of hypochondria.

To improve your HBA1C, I recommend infusion pumps. There are those that use the sensor to control sugar, and are holy hand.I have managed to lower up to 5.7 and that without absolutely any hypoglycemia.

Luck.
