in my opinion is that there is something that causes you resistance to insulin, to reduce that resistance there is what has always been said in this forum, exercise and especially strength and strength andIf not medication (metformin) but this consults with your doctor, for example I had a lot
Right now I can't exercise because I have the injured foot 😔 I have to make total rest, but I am to walk a lot and make muscles ...
Insulin resistance and this pill was not aware ...
The only thing I can say is that the same thing happened to me and I had to return to Lantus 😵💫

It is true that metformin is not being used in type 1, but I think it is a mistake. There is someone in the type1 forum that uses it and note that needs less insulin.I am type 2 with almost exhausted pancreas and I have fast and slow and I move a lot, I am 7 km every day (I am unemployed and I can).My endo says I don't understand how I get so little insulin when my pancreas is almost zero.I usually click quickly at breakfast and special meals. As I forget metformin, absolute uncontrol. And on the day of the elections that touched me at the electoral table (15 hours sitting) I had to put quickly 5 times !!!!(Normally one or two a day).
Conclusion: It is affecting you much not to be able to move, the difference is bestial. And perhaps the metformin would alleviate the lack of movement.

@Estefaniabc32 I suppose they are fashions, like everything in this life ... I used metformin for about 10 years, I have DM1 for 38 and in a change of endocrine, he retired, they took it away from me, from this about 5 years ago.I have always had labile diabetes, they say that is why when he decompensated me for no reason I have a hard time returning to normal.
For 3 months, I had to double the fast, but the basal no.Until October I do not review again but I am going crazy, correcting once or twice every day for no reason ... maybe I ask for metformin again, because now I have a brutal resistance to insulin.
It is true that I use little insulin, basal (Tresiba, the one that has given me best) now 16, at other times I have had only 12.
Our life is this, always looking for changes to improve ... very tired ...

Uff, I know there are worse things and I don't know if I do well to say this. But Telita with diabetes!I do not want my worst enemy! It is a very slave disease ...
It cost me years to accept it, but I've already had to spab from ...
I am 33 years old and I have had serious complications on my right foot following a burn ... which has decided to amputate my thumb and piss for an advanced osteomyelitis ... all because of the complications of diabetes. It is a disease that if you do not take it to Raja Table kills you silently ... Over the years the symptoms are being seen.BFF hopefully I could go back.

encouragement, I am the same, they passed me from Lantus to Toujeo, because I had many hypos especially nocturnal, some were quite chungas.I weight 74 kg and I am getting 24 of Toujeo, if I wear 26, I have left over.It is also true that I am a roller coaster because I also worn the fast, before Novorapid and now I go with Fiasp. It is assumed that the slow glucose endures us between hours, and the rapid is to amortize the meals, but I think that a bad fijustment, it makes everything difficult.
For example, it happens to me, after meals, 2 h I'm fine, but then without eating anything or having abused fat, sugar still goes up, and if I get slower, then I get up with horse hits.
Come on that I am up to the same, trying to apply logic, and get totally illogical results ... hehehe I have been more than 20 years of type1,
Fiasp for its action time covers the assimilation of carbohydrates well, if you follow a low hydrates diet and higher in protein and fats, you have low, by the action of the FIASP, for an hour and a half-two hours after eatingAnd then, when the Fiasp effect is over, it rises again. This does not happen with Novorapid for e.g.that has a longer radius of action, although the waiting times must be respected because its beginning is much later than with the FIASP.You have to play with all this and it is not simple.
With flat insulins, being very linear, you have to take into account the composition of diet macronutrients, hydrates, proteins.Fat, when it comes to get the quick because it can be a disaster.
I many times as it were, as I see the composition of the food, more or less hydrates more fat etc. I punish me both. The FIASP for hydrates when the plate reaches the table that I can start eating immediately and then I put some novorapid units to have a more extended radius of action. The amounts depend on the type of food, put more than one and another depending on whether I am for example.to an Italian or to a roast site. But as I am so mechanized with the food I do not usually happen. Also trying and not going from units will not be worse the remedy than the disease, starting more and with patience one trains. It is not an exact science and there can always be surprises but in general this method works for me although I only use it in more exceptional cases.Yes I have noticed that on insulin resistance days, FIASP is like water, then for a few days I pass to novorapid and under hydrates or increased the exercise. In short as a human calculator.
In any case, not everyone responds in the same way to the effect of the different insulins and only your attentive and continuous observation to your glucose reactions and controls will give you the pattern to follow.Doctors here can not tell you anything, it is your own experience. Moreover, they will learn from your observations.

@Estefaniabc32 25ud of Toujeo seems a lot but being at rest it is normal. And if you add hormones ... It is already a watchmaking and lack of control.
The normal thing is to raise/lower 2 in 2 units every 3 days, but there is not only the glycemia when getting up, but also during the day, that you are stable between hours.
Of course, it is very flat, it is not like Lantus that has a strong peak at 4 hours, so fat or protein effects absorbed it well. With toujeo if you go to bed at 130 you lift at least in 125, and if fats or proteins dawn above 200.
You can do weights with dumbbells being sitting. You develop muscle and glucose burning.
I have done weight again these days and I have lowered my insulin levels quite a lot.

@Estefaniabc32 Hello I can, tell you the experience of my husband.DB2 for ten years treated with metformin at the beginning and with eukreas 2/day later. After being all this time well controlled, in December it begins to have hyperglycemia of almost 350. Analytical: gyted 9.9.They put lantus 4 units night.Glycemia are normalized.Analytical at 3 months: gyzed 6.6 glycemia 82 AC anti insulin positive and peptic C 0.92.Rest of negative antibodies.
They take eukreas and change to Levemir 8u tomorrow and 6 unid night. He has high glycemias throughout the day. They decide to put eukles again and return to Lantus 4 unid night and standardize again.
They changed to Levemir PK they were surprised that with 4 Unid de Lantus it was fine. What they do not get is that it rises weight (it has lost about 14 kilos in a year and a half). They have told him that his pancreas is running out ... ..

Still with Lantus then ??
Is that if one thing is doing well, I don't know why he has to change another ...
The lantus are very bad but it doesn't seem a bad insulin if you know how to control it ... Each body is a world.
The one who cannot gain weight is perhaps because of lack of control. If you have very high glucose levels you will also have dehydration and a lot of thirst. At least I was very lost an era that I was very uncontrolled.
All the best!

Hi Ruthbia!
It seems that I am taking the tip a bit ... or so I hope.It is that what despairs me is that they change my insulin and have no way of seeing my endocrine in 1 month or two, they have not even given me date.On Wednesday I will see the Nurse of Endocrinology and put the sensor, but she does not make changes to the guidelines ...
Anyway, since I started using Toujeo I have had many hyperglycemia, I injected it at 12 noon and put 25 units as I did with Lantus.
As I see that if it lasts 24h (since Lantus lasted about 20h or less), I am trying to put it in the morning with breakfast and I have climbed to 29uds.At the moment I have stabilized the levels quite a lot and I wake up well on an empty stomach and before sleep I am also in 120 approx. What I had to do is lower the fast dose, before it had a fixed + corrections and now adapt it to the rations that such as, which are usually 4-4-4.
All the best!

@Estefaniabc32: When you carry the sensor you will see what a difference, you can adjust the insulin doses with more security and have alarms of hiccups and hyper to act accordingly.

They put the sensor last year but caught me in a time of anxiety that I had to deal with a psychologist and the sensor generated even more anxiety ...
Besides, the nurse I had not helped much ... A woman had never treated me so badly.
Now I have changed the nurse and I have also been anxious to have a long time, so they have proposed to take it again and I think it is the time.

@Estefaniabc32 It is normal for you to have hypos and have lowered the fast, because you have a lot of basal circulating.
You will have to go little by little down Toujeo when you normalize. The sensor will help you.
I with a sensor and everything, late 1 month, the first weeks did not fall from 200 at any time.
If I asked for a change of toujeo from Levemir, because it was more stable and more than 24h more than 24h thus saved a puncture. Before I used lantus .... few remain to try 😆
Try to do weights as I said, you will see better results in your glycemia.

Good morning, I am three months with Toujeo and I have been a horror to adjust the dose.It is the first insulin that I take and the endocrine told me to start with 10 units and climb 2 in 2. I get to put 35 units and now I am between 20 and 22 units.I notice that the diet and exercise affects a lot, walking an hour a day and consuming very few hydrates especially
