Castellón forms security equipment to identify and treat hypoglycemia

On May 14, the City of Castellón, in collaboration with the Association of Diabetes de Castellón (Adicas), will carry out a training day for our security and emergency personnel.

This training aims to train our firefighters, local police, urban mobility agents and civil protection volunteers to identify and manage cases of hypoglycemia effectively.

Hypoglycemia, a condition that can present symptoms similar to those of ethyl poisoning, is a low -level of blood glucose level that, if it is not quickly, can lead to serious complications.Learning to recognize these symptoms is essential to provide the urgent help that patients need.

Mayor Begoña Carrasco and the president of Adicas, María Teresa Marí, have emphasized the importance of this formation not only to improve the response in emergency situations, but also to increase consciousness and knowledge about diabetes.This disease affects approximately 47,000 people alone in our province, representing about 15% of our population.

The training session will be held in the classroom of the Public Security School of the City of Castellón (space), and promises to be a step forward in the support and understanding of people living with diabetes.

Investment in training and research is basic to advance treatments and improve the quality of life of patients.

This initiative is not only a reflection of the local government's commitment to community health, but also highlights the continuous work of the Castellón Diabetes Association in providing support and education to patients and families.
