How time flies!Just a year ago I shared with you the news of my first day with the insulin pump, after 26 years of living with pens.I can't help but look back and smile when I remember the nerves of the first day, the three hours of training, the fear of the cables and that first scare on the motorcycle... 😅
Now, after these 12 months of experience, I can say that the bomb has been a before and after in my daily life. The biggest advantages that I have noticed regarding pens are:
🔹 Sleep soundly every night: Except occasionally when a notice wakes me up to change the reservoir, the rest of the nights are pure peace and rest. This is a luxury I haven't experienced in a long time.
🔹 Improvement in my HbA1c and TIR (Time in Range): Stability in glucose levels has improved considerably. Now my range is much more consistent and the spikes are less frequent.
🔹 Ease of carrying it: It is true that at first the cable and carrying it on my belt were somewhat uncomfortable for me, but now it is another extension of me.I don't even notice it anymore and I have learned to avoid the typical snags on chairs and doors.
🔹 Perfect adaptation for sport: I have managed to improve my sports routine.Controlling basal rates during exercise allows me to adjust levels much better, avoiding sudden peaks and drops.
In short, it has been a very positive change.Looking back, I can't help but think about why I didn't take the step sooner.I know that each person is different, but for me it has been an incredible advance.
If you are doubting the change, from my experience, I can only say that for me it has been a great success.
Anyone else here who has recently taken the plunge?

Hello Fer, I have an appointment with an endocrinologist in December and it is an option that I am considering, I have been with feathers for more than 40 years and I am not very sure but like all of you who have had a blast, you are so happy... I don't have bad control, glycation of 5.8 but perhaps with more effort than necessary and nights that you don't know why, it increases,
A question, to do sports on the ground, if you crawl, it may be.annoying, right?Isn't it better to disconnect it if it is an hour? I think it would bother me for abs, push-ups and floor exercises. The same if I swim for more than an hour.I have heard that in those cases you can take a bolus before disconnecting.
And to sleep, how do you do it?and this is more for women, how do you do it for dresses, especially in summer but in general, if they are tighter.Thank you
